Paid Internship Opportunity at NASA Ames Research Center- GENERAL CLERK

Overview

Jacobs Technology Inc. student internships are paid educational hands-on traineeships that provide a unique learning opportunity for students.  Internships are conducted at NASA Ames Research Center, or anywhere activities are ongoing to support the Aerospace Testing Operations and Maintenance (ATOM) Contract.

Job Description

Jacobs is currently seeking a General Clerk to provide support for the ATOM contract.  The General Clerk would primarily support the Operations Branch Manager and staff at the Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel. General responsibilities will include handling phone calls, office supply ordering, general filing tasks, maintaining office supply stock in the tunnels, scheduling office equipment upkeep and repairs, keeping office areas orderly for incoming visitors and staff, assisting with assembly of financial and technical reports, purchasing of parts, supplies, and services both through the Jacobs procurement system and government GSA system, assist with facility inventory as needed, help to ensure staff are equipped with computers, phones, and other tools needed to perform their work, event planning and participation, office moves, and scheduling meetings as requested. Candidate should be familiar with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other general office software. Candidate should be friendly and have the ability to provide a warm welcoming to the office visitors.

This is an opportunity for the student to engage in professional activities which support Jacobs’ business and administrative processes.  Through the course of this internship, the student will enhance and increase his or her professional capabilities through mentorship and learning opportunities in the various business office functions.

Ideally, this intern will work approximately 20 hours per week throughout the year, with minor adjustments made to accommodate the student’s class/school schedule.

Experience/Qualifications

No working experience is necessary for this position.  All training will be provided on the job. Student must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at Cañada College (maintaining a minimum of 6 units per semester). Progress towards a Business Degree is preferred, but not required.  The position requires a high degree of organizational and communication skills. Candidate must have strong computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel. U.S Citizenship is required

Job Description

Jacobs is currently seeking a Finance Administrator to provide support for the ATOM contract.  This position will primarily support the Business Office and staff. General responsibilities will provide financial support to the business office in a variety of areas. Main duties will include accounts payable tasks such as matching, entering vouchers, issuing checks, and resolving vendor and invoice issues. Additional support will include a variety of tasks including contract financial and project reporting, closing and managing purchase orders, and ensuring labor and services/materials are accurately charged.  Other duties may include assisting the business manager or general manager with special projects, and providing audit support as needed.  Candidate should be familiar with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other general office software.
